Working on a Saturday ain’t so bad

Coming in on a Saturday to get work done is not so bad. The office was quite and I got a lot done today. I was working with one of my coworkers to finish some ads for a Monday deadline. For lunch we hit one of the best ramen joints in all of Tokyo, which luckily happens to be a 10 minute walk from the office. This ramen was THE BEST RAMEN EVER. It had two kinds of pork on top, big pieces of dried, roasted garlic, and tons of bamboo and tasty noodles, it was sooooo nice. After lunch we walked over to Kiddy Land, where I finally found the “Adventure Island” game for my sister.

Later, after finishing work around 10:00PM, I decided to hit the conveyer belt sushi restaurant in Shibuya with my coworker. This place was also delicious, I ate a lot of yellow tail and tuna, and the eel was great! This was the second time I’ve been to this sushi restaurant, and it’s just as excellent as the first time I went. The chefs are not inconsiderate, they are very friendly and very attentive. Nobody makes fun of me when I try to speak Japanese, and the sushi is big and fresh. There is another conveyer belt sushi restaurant in the center of Shibuya, it’s quite famous actually. This is the place most people go when they first visit Shibuya, but the owner is racist jerk with a sour attitude. I guess I’ll retell the story once more for those who didn’t hear this, and I’m not the only one who had a bad experience there. I went with a friend a few weeks ago to this “famous” place, and we ran into some trouble with the owner(at least, I think he was the owner judging from his outfit). There’s a sign outside the restaurant, it clearly states in English, “you must eat 7 plates of sushi in order to stay for 20 minutes.” Right below this one, in Japanese, is another sign which states, “you must eat 7 plates of sushi in order to stay for 30 minutes.” Confused, my friend asked the owner who walked out to greet us. He looks at her and points to the Japanese sign, then she asks her question and points to me, confused by the time differences between the signs. The owner suddenly notices me, and points angrily to the English sign, then looks at her, and in an upset tone, asks her if she’s REALLY going to eat 7 plates of sushi. She got very upset, because clearly he didn’t want me in there, and she wasn’t very happy with his attitude towards her. So we walked away, and I took her to this new place which I mentioned above. If anyone reads this and wants to know where it is, I’ll be more than happy to tell you, it’s the same distance walk from the station as the famous place. This place is so much better, friendlier, and nicer smelling. Eating there is a very pleasant experience, and it’s really fun, even the price is good, everything is 130Yen(30 Yen more is well worth it for the degree of quality and service at this place). Tonight I was addicted to their eel, which was possibly THE most delicious eel I’ve had since I came here. I LOVE EEL! :D
