A beautiful morning, with the howling baseball team

What a lovely morning! Waking up to the fresh smell of the summer breeze, the sunlight pouring through the curtains, the baseball teams yelling at the top of their lungs… AAAAAAAAAAH!!! Welcome to a Saturday morning living by the riverside. They’re aren’t so loud as to wake anyone up, thanks to the distance between our apartment and their “field,” but after listening to their constant, and consistent yelling, one would wonder if it had any meaning in the first place. I’ve begun to think that it has no meaning at all, and their coach is simply preparing them for the real world when they finish school and start their part time jobs this summer at such fine establishments as, “7-11,” “Family Mart,” and my favorite, “Book-Off.” These jobs require their employees to say, every few seconds at the top of their lungs, “irasshai-mase!!!!!!!!!” Which means, “welcome to our store.” This may sound nice, but when you realize they haven’t stopped saying it, even after the store is completely empty, it becomes eerily strange. My favorite, “Book-Off,” a used book store, always employs some fascinating individuals. I’ll never forget walking down one of the isles, a bit tired of hearing “IRASSHAI-MASE!,” only to find a girl who’s become too tired of saying it, so she was reduced to saying, “éeeEEEEE!” the final note of it. I stood there for a minute, glanced at my watch, looked around to see nobody there, and caught on that she had it perfectly timed to every 5 seconds, but couldn’t stop. Hence, the baseball team that never stops cheering, even when I look outside and they’re sitting and not moving at all, they continue to cheer, every Saturday morning.
