My apartment and the sumo wrestlers

I’m finally done moving, and my new apartment is wonderful. It’s quite, big, and very relaxing. At the bottom of the street is where the fun starts though, as bars, restaurants, coffee houses and shops line the streets. On my second night here, I had a beer on a rooftop bar about a minute from my apartment with a live guitarist and a view of Shinjuku and the skyline. Our livingroom is my favorite part though, with tatami mats, a wooden ceiling, and sliding paper doors with glass doors behind them. Our porch on the other side has a roof of it’s own, so you can sit outside even when it’s raining and enjoy the view of Shimo-Kitazawa’s rooftops. I hope more people come to visit me, this time I have a LOT more space for friends and family to stay.
One last thing, Sumo last Sunday was excellent, I can’t wait to go again(even though the seats weren’t very comfortable and a guy with a pumpkin-shaped head got in my way a lot…). There was so much energy, it was incredible, and the all the customs and process were so interesting. The final round was the most amazing, as the biggest sumo wrestlers put on a great show. I’ll try to post photos when I have time!
