Arcade
OK, so after dinner(and the night before), we hit the video game arcade near my apartment and played this great drumming game. It’s a game where you hit these Japanese taiko drums to follow the beat of the music, two people can play. It was so much fun, they play this funny music and you follow the rythm and hit the drums. Lizzie was having a blast, we went back for more after dinner tonight. The night before, my friends Beau and Judy joined us and we played the drumming game and tried to win funny Japanese stuffed animals out of the U.F.O. catchers. Today Lizzie walked around Shibuya and found the famous Tokyu Hands store, with it’s floors filled with art supplies, toys, games, and all kinds of cool stuff. The day before that, she walked around Harajuku and checked out all the funky clothing shops and tried a banana chocolate crepe from one of Harajuku’s popular crepe shops. I think what made all of this so easy was getting Lizzie her own phone. She calls me whenever she has a question or needs something, it’s so convenient. Tonight after work, I bought our tickets for Kyoto. We’re leaving early on Monday morning and coming back to Tokyo late Wednesday night. We’re staying at a hotel near the station, but once we get there, we’ll probably rent bikes to ride around the ancient shrines and temples. I can’t wait to go, this is my first time visiting Kyoto and it’s going to be so much fun. Lizzie is really excited and I’m happy that my first time there can be with her. I’m so happy that my sister is here, and I’m happy that she can see this wonderful place with her own eyes. Right now she’s sitting next to me typing on her own computer at an internet cafe. Japanese internet cafes give you free soda and you can read their comic books(manga) for free while you’re there. She’s been loving the food, especially the ramen we had the other night. I took her to one of Tokyo’s famous ramen shops near Harajuku and we both had their special ramen which is covered in vegetables, pork, and fried garlic. I really hope everyone gets a chance to visit Tokyo, it’s so refreshing to see it through my sister’s eyes. It’s simply an incredible place to live in and to visit.
