Salt

Waki took me out to Salt in the Shin-Maru Building for my birthday dinner this evening. Neither of us have had any time to spend together the past two months due to lousy work schedules and complete lack of free time, so my birthday was completely passed over. Finally we could get out and tonights dinner was fantastic. Salt is a fine dining establishment by Australian chef Luke Mangan. Our dinner tonight was a wonderful course of exotic flavors combining various fruits and meats with unique preparation techniques. The dish above is roasted fish with a fresh fig on a pastry crust, covered with coconut foam. Waki was sweet to call ahead and inform them it was my birthday, so at the end of the meal we received a platter of deserts with my name written in chocolate. I’m such a lucky guy. :)
